About Founder

Alina Casper was born and raised in Lithuania and ventured to the United States immediately after high school. She feels fortunate to receive a wonderful education in both Lithuania and America, especially since she was a junior in high school who simultaneously graduated with a business degree from the University in Lithuania as well as Pasadena college when arriving in the States. However, while studying all those hours she always spent time in her grandmother’s salon.

I don’t know what I would like to be, but I do know that I don’t want to be a hairdresser

Alina never planned to become a hairdresser. In fact, when credited adults asked the strong-minded younger Alina what she wanted to do when she grew up, Alina used to answer, “I don’t know what I would like to be, but I do know that I don’t want to be a hairdresser”. Little did she know she would end up making a living off styling people’s hair. Alina used to watch her mother mix colors and learn new cutting techniques at night when family was watching it on VHS .

Alina is a proud third-generation hairdresser & she wants to share her expertise with the world.

Though, she would always spend time in her grandmother’s salon after school; her grandma even allowed her to do some of her clients when business was busy and she needed help.
When arriving to California, Alina knew how to speak German, Japanese, and Lithuanian, yet she didn’t know any English. Luckily, a restaurant took her under their wing, gave her a job, and she slowly began to pick up Spanish and English. Living paycheck by paycheck, Alina raised her daughter, finished night cosmetology classes, and somehow managed to do her friends’ hair on occasion. Then, she realized she had the experience and education to build a stable career out of hairdressing; Alina could be a third-generation hairdresser.
Alina ended up finding an opportunity to work in a Beverly Hills salon. While she learned a lot from the experience, the commute was inconvenient with an hour one way, without LA traffic. She was lucky enough to find a salon in a country club much closer to home that she stayed with for 15 years. This is where Alina developed long term clients, close friends, and fond memories of her children growing up.
Alina is proud to be a third-generation hairdresser & she wants to share her expertise with the world. This blog is her way to connect with anyone who wants to get to know their hair from an experienced individual. Alina has always believed that it is not about how your hair looks, but how your hair makes you feel.
